Read the title again.
When we read those words, we automatically think MONEY. But what is living actually costing you, without you realising it? Financially, sure. But what about mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually?
Because your daily, weekly or monthly habits impact more than just your back pocket. They also have the potential to either create or drain your energy, joy and peace.
What are you really doing to ensure you actually LIVE?
Not just existing. I mean a life that’s full of laughter, good health, freedom, peace, joy and inspiration.
What if you reworked your world so that not only is your money supporting those things – but your time, energy and focus are too?
Let’s break it down.
We’re pouring money into things we don’t need!
Takeaway coffees. A bottle of wine here and there. Processed snacks because we didn’t pack anything. Takeout dinners. Random supplements because someone said we need them.

And sure, sometimes these things bring us joy, but for the most part they’re burning a hole.
We are influenced daily to drop our money on short-term dopamine hits, instant gratification, promises of renewed life force, of happiness that’s apparently just around the corner. We tell ourselves these things make us happy – but it’s not real. It’s not long lasting. It’s reactive.
At the end of the day, it takes money away from things we really need. Investing in our health, our families, things that really light us up – for the long term. We end up having to say no because of the small incremental things we’ve flashed our cards at instead.
And don’t get me wrong, everyone has different ideas when it comes to joy and expenditure, and that’s OK. But if you find yourself having to say no to the night away, the dinner with your husband, the holiday, the retreat, the coaching program you really would love to do, the subscription to the fitness app that would help you turn a corner, the 1:1 date with your kid – then maybe it’s time to really look at where your money is actually going. Because the financial cost becomes a mental, emotional, and physical cost too.
We say no to the things that would actually fuel and sustain us long-term…
…and yes to the things that only distract us short-term.
- The buzz of that coffee right now… versus the 12 weeks it might take to feel stronger and healthier.
- The takeaway dinner because cooking feels too hard tonight… versus the habit of creating nourishing meals that could transform your energy in a few months.
- A bottle of wine here and there… versus a spontaneous night away.
- Supplements that have no backing… versus the subscription to the app that inspires and motivates you to move your body.
All of this without realising that the things that improve our long-term health also boost our mental well-being and happiness. They create space for us to breathe, build our confidence and shape us into better humans – better parents, partners, siblings and friends. Yet, too often, we let these things pass us by because we’re so blinded by the quick fixes.
We say we have no time, money, energy, patience, and discipline. But then we do absolutely nothing about it
We continue on the same path in the hope that one day it’ll change – and it won’t
Unless you do.
Take this as your sign
What’s it costing you not to change? What would you LOVE to do but keep saying you can’t? Make it happen. Prove to yourself you CAN.
Because you weren’t put on this earth to spend every day fighting. You were put here to LIVE. Really LIVE!
If having time away for YOU is on that list, we have a few rare spots left on my Byron Bay retreat on the 19th October.

Join us and take the time to reflect, rejuvenate and be with like-minded women.
If not now, when? Stop waiting.
It’s time.
